- 2 teaspoons organic green tea leaves (or 2 green tea bags)
- 1 teaspoon fresh grated ginger root (or ½ teaspoon ground ginger)
- 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice (about ½ medium lemon)
- 1 teaspoon raw honey (or pure maple syrup)
- Optional: white tea instead of green, lime juice, stevia drops, cinnamon pinch
Instructions
- Heat 12 oz of filtered water to 175–185°F. If boiled, let cool for 2–3 minutes.
- Grate 1 tsp of fresh ginger and place into your teapot or mug.
- Add green tea leaves or bags directly with the ginger.
- Pour heated water over the mixture, cover, and steep for exactly 4 minutes.
- Strain out tea leaves and ginger. While warm, stir in raw honey until dissolved.
- Squeeze in fresh lemon juice and stir gently. Serve hot or over ice.
Notes
Avoid boiling water on green tea. Always use fresh lemon and raw honey for full nutritional value. Drink immediately or refrigerate up to 3 days. Add lemon and sweetener just before serving for best taste.
