- 1/2 tsp salt
- 2/3 cup warm milk (110°F)
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
- 2 large eggs, room temperature
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 4 cups vegetable oil for frying
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1 tsp vanilla extract

- In a large bowl, whisk flour, remaining sugar, and salt.

- Knead the dough for 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place in an oiled bowl, cover, and rise in warm place for 1 hour or until doubled.
- Roll dough to 1/2-inch thickness and cut into donuts. Place on parchment-lined trays with space between.
- Cover and let rise another 30 minutes until puffy.
- Heat oil to 350°F. Fry donuts 1-2 minutes per side until golden. Drain on paper towels.
- Use a knife to cut 3 slits halfway through each donut and gently pull to create the stripped look.
- Mix glaze ingredients and dip slightly cooled donuts. Drizzle glaze lines across pulled sections. Let set.
Notes
Store unglazed donuts in the freezer up to 3 months. Substitute with whole wheat flour, bake instead of fry, or use stevia for healthier options.
