Description
The tuxedo bomb dessert layers moist chocolate cake, creamy vanilla mousse, and glossy ganache into a dome-shaped showstopper perfect for special occasions or any time you crave chocolate elegance.

- 1½ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- ¾ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 1 cup warm coffee
- ½ cup vegetable oil
- 1 tablespoon white vinegar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 cups heavy cream
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- ¾ cup powdered sugar
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 packet unflavored gelatin
- 3 tablespoons warm water
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 12 oz dark chocolate, chopped
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 tablespoon corn syrup
- White chocolate shavings
- Optional: fresh berries, edible gold leaf
- Substitutions: gluten-free flour, coconut cream, cashew cream cheese, monk fruit sweetener
Instructions
- Line a 6-cup bowl with plastic wrap for dome mold. Leave overhang to cover later.
- Preheat oven to 350°F. Mix flour, sugar, cocoa, baking soda, and salt. Add coffee, oil, vinegar, and vanilla. Mix until combined. Pour into greased 9-inch pan and bake 22-25 minutes. Cool completely.
- Bloom gelatin in warm water 5 mins. Whip cream to soft peaks. Beat cream cheese, add powdered sugar and vanilla. Dissolve gelatin and mix into cream cheese. Fold in whipped cream gently.
- Cut cake into cubes. Line mold with half the cake, then add half mousse. Repeat layers. Cover and chill at least 3 hours.
- Heat cream and pour over chocolate. Stir smooth. Add butter and corn syrup. Cool to room temperature.
- Unmold dome onto serving plate. Pour ganache over dome. Decorate with white chocolate and berries if using.
Notes
Chill fully for structure, and let ganache cool before pouring for clean finish. Cake, mousse, and ganache can all be made ahead.
